Early Dismissal Reminders

All students at the Dual Language Academy of the Monterey Peninsula (DLAMP) are required to remain on campus during school hours. NO student is to leave school grounds during the school day without legal guardians coming to the office to sign out by informing the front office staff. If it is necessary to pick up a student during school hours, please follow these procedures:

  1. Stop by the front office to sign out your student with office staff.

  2. Inform the office staff that you are requesting an early dismissal, and provide the student’s full name and grade.

  3. Sign the Early Dismissal Form (the pink sheet at the counter) please mark the reason for early dismissal and front office staff will call to locate your child.

In addition, please keep the following in mind:

  • ALWAYS be prepared to provide a valid photo ID. You may be asked to show your ID even if you have picked up a student before.

  • Maintain the student’s ParentVue information up-to-date. Students will only be released to adults (18+) who are listed on the student’s Emergency Contacts. Please advise them to bring an ID.

  • ALL early dismissals will be documented on the student’s attendance record. Frequent early dismissals are subject to truancy procedures. AVOID requesting early dismissal for any reason other than an illness, a medical appointment, or an emergency. Please provide supporting documentation for medical/dental appointments.

  • DO NOT ask that your student wait in the office at a specified time. Do NOT call prior to arriving on campus to request that your student wait for you in the office. This disrupts instruction and instructional minutes for the entire class.

  • AVOID requesting early dismissal during the last 15 minutes of the school day (unless absolutely necessary) in order to avoid classroom interruptions.

  • ALWAYS allocate sufficient time for the early dismissal process. Staff will place a call to the classroom once the early dismissal is requested in the front office.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR HELPING US TO MAXIMIZE STUDENT SAFETY AND INSTRUCTIONAL TIME.
